It comes out of the box with the 8.5" Rubber Air Tires on all 3 wheels but is interchangeable to the 8" polyurethane wheels.

The Trikke (pronounced "trike") is a human powered (HPV), three-wheeled carving vehicle that utilizes conservation of angular momentum to allow a rider to propel forward. The rider alternates leaning side-to-side to move forwards. The width needed to move forward is roughly the width of a downtown sidewalk (1-1.5 m). The company released two new products - the electric Tribred and the Skki- to join the HPV line. The Tribred is making inroads into law enforcement, security and warehouse patrolling, as well as offering consumers a fun way to commute.
A rider may reach speeds of up to 18 mph (29 km/h) on flat ground. It can be used downhill or a level surface. It can move uphill though doing so requires substantial effort. The whole body needs to be used in a synchronized movement.
Trikke-riding occupies a niche in the low-impact aerobic exercise category. Unlike walking, bicycling, and swimming, Trikking puts relatively little stress on the hip joints. For people with arthritic hips, this advantage can compensate for the learning curve associated with mastering the correct form necessary for efficient propulsion with this HPV. Trikking also recruits the abdominal muscles to a greater extent than most popular forms of aerobics.
Like walking, Trikking qualifies as a weight-bearing exercise. This consideration is relevant for post-menopausal women who seek to maintain bone density.
Another caveat. Trikking on a wet sidewalk or on wet pavement increases the risk of taking a spill. This is one reason why one should always wear a bicycle helmet when Trikking. For people who live in places that have mild weather for most of the year, outdoor Trikking can fulfill most of their aerobic exercise needs. However in most other places, fitness buffs should have a Plan B for aerobics on rainy days.
